Notes & Web Clipper

Markdown notes, drawings and mind maps — plus pages clipped from Chrome.

Notes is where you capture, organise and search personal notes.

Writing notes

  • Notes are Markdown, with images.
  • Add a drawing (an Excalidraw canvas) or a mind map inside a note.
  • Press ⌘⇧Space / Ctrl+Shift+Space anywhere on your computer to jot a quick note.
  • Export to Obsidian when you want your notes in a vault.

The global assistant can search your notes, answer questions from them and create new ones.

Clip the web from Chrome

Install TinyOffice Notes — Web Capture from the Chrome Web Store (Chrome 120 or later). Then:

  • Press ⌘⇧D / Ctrl+Shift+D to save the current page to Notes, or
  • right-click a page and choose to save it to TinyOffice Notes.

The extension can also save Facebook posts, sync your Facebook Saved items and send YouTube videos to Media.

How the clipper connects

The Chrome extension talks to the TinyOffice app running on the same computer over a local connection — nothing passes through a server. That means:

  1. TinyOffice must be open when you clip.
  2. Settings → Utilities → Chrome Extension → Enable notes bridge must be on (it is by default).
